When I launched Patient Support Network (PSN), the mission was clear: help remove financial barriers to advanced medical care by connecting hospitals, sponsors, donors, and patients in a shared ecosystem. Our first pilot phase was an invaluable opportunity to test this model, understand the real-world dynamics, and uncover what works — and where we need to evolve.
What Worked
We were encouraged to see clear signals of success:
Demonstrated proof of concept for sponsor-backed patient funding.
Positive feedback from early hospital conversations and potential partners.
Interest from sponsors and donors in expanding impact.
These early wins validated the need for a platform like PSN — but they also revealed critical lessons.
What We Learned
Through conversations with healthcare leaders, sponsors, and partners, we gained insights that shaped our roadmap:
Align with, don’t compete with, existing hospital processes. Hospitals have their own fundraising and sponsor relationships. PSN needs to integrate smoothly and complement what’s already in place.
Build emotional connection into sponsor engagement. Geographic and emotional proximity influence donor behavior — so the platform must help sponsors build authentic connections with the communities they support.
Prioritize B2B referral partnerships. Large patient networks (like insurance groups or referral partners) can help scale outreach far beyond what direct-to-patient marketing achieves.
Create measurable value on both sides. Sponsors, patients, and hospitals all need to experience clear, mutual benefit — from brand exposure to funding access to improved patient outcomes.
How We’re Thinking Forward
Armed with these lessons, we have outlined a roadmap for a next-generation version of PSN. We have explored:
Redesigning the platform to plug into hospital workflows seamlessly.
Introducing sponsor-branded groups to deepen emotional engagement.
Expanding B2B partnerships to streamline patient referrals.
Strengthening interaction and incentive mechanisms to ensure value across all stakeholders.
What’s Next
The future potential of PSN remains deeply exciting. We welcome conversations with anyone interested in healthcare innovation and access — whether hospitals, sponsors, donors, or partners curious about shaping the future of patient-centered solutions.
Thank You
To everyone who supported PSN’s first chapter — thank you. Your belief in this mission continues to inspire the work ahead.
